Saving with North Coatbridge Credit Union

Both adult and junior members have various ways in which they can make deposits to their Credit Union account.

  • You can call into the office and make a cash or cheque deposit.  All cheques should be made payable to North Coatbridge Credit Union Ltd

  • You can set up a standing order to deposit funds into your account weekly, fortnightly or monthly, depending on what suits you and which frequency your bank accept.

If you pay manually at the office, you will always receive a receipt with your new share balance.

If you pay by any of the other methods you can apply for a PIN to keep track of your account online.  For more information regarding a PIN, please see the About your PIN section.

Alternatively you can pop in or telephone the office to request a statement of your account at any time.

Loans are only available to members who are aged 18 or over.   All loans are based on share to loan ratio, length of membership and the ability to repay.  No loans are guaranteed and it can take up to one week for a decision to be made on a loan application.



Applying for a Loan

  • Online - If you have a PIN you can login to the members section and apply online.

  • In Person - You can call into the office during opening hours to speak to a loan officer.

Borrowing Guidelines

  • For the first three months of membership, members need to save for 12 consecutive weeks or 3 consecutive months and have £150.00 in shares.

  • After three months of membership, members may apply for a first loan of double their share balance.

  • After first loan is clear, members may apply for up to 4x their share balance.

Loan Officers will consider all applications made and may subject them to credit checks.  Applications may be referred to the Loan Review Board, which can take up to seven days for a decision to be made. 

Collecting Your Loan

If you loan has been approved and is ready for collection you must bring two forms of identification with you.

Without this information your loan will not be paid out.

You will require:

  • One form of photographic identification, such as a passport or driving licence.  We will also accept: bus pass, works pass, student cards.

  • One form of address identification, such as a recent utility bill or bank statement.  This must contain your name and address and must be dated within the last three months.
